Rubba Dub Dub

Today’s blog comes to you from the bath tub. Exciting huh!?

I decided to take a soak in a hot bubbly tub this evening as I still ache all over. My ankle is fine, it was just one of those days where I felt very stiff and achy, it’s probably just where it’s getting cold out now.

I could really do with a nice relaxing week off. I haven’t had one since we went to Croatia in May. I had a couple of days off around RTX but that was such a busy weekend that you almost need a holiday after it.

I remember back in 2009 when I went to San Diego Comic-Con, that was an exhausting long weekend. Only about three weeks before I had flown to Hong Kong literally for a weekend (that’s a whole other story!) and then I was going to SDCC for the whole thing. This was back when you could get into preview night as well mind you so it was really a five day event.

I definitely needed a holiday after that… so I did. I took a week off in the south of France at my mum and Paul’s place. I’m gutted they’ve since sold that. It was perfect for just going and hanging out by the pool for a week and relaxing.

I was 22 in 2009, unless I really think about it and I have no idea how I was able to afford that summer, but in actual fact I was all just good luck and circumstance. I’d been saving for San Diego for the better part of a year and had already paid for my flights and hotel. The latter actually ended up being cheaper when a friend decided to come too and we split the cost of the room. For Hong Kong all I needed to pay for was my hotel room and that was on British Airways staff discounted rate anyway (again, story for another time!) and going to my mums in France was always super cheap as it’s a short flight and she took care of the rest.

Man, I had it easy!

I was saying something similar to a neighbour the other day. We’ve both had run ins recently with someone who lives sort of opposite us and doesn’t like us either putting our bins in the secure trash shed away from the wild animals, or when we put the bags in the street and they get ripped up. You can’t seem to win with this women. As I said to my neighbour though, if that’s the biggest concern in her life right now then she’s alright, I’m not going to break a sweat about it.

Back to my bath time. I’ve been planning out posts for the future, I’ve got xmas week pretty much sorted out. One of the posts is already written and the I know what I’m doing for the other six. I’ll probably get them written and scheduled to go up, that way when it inevitably gets crazy busy all I have to do is go back in and add some pictures.

I’ve got a good number of other posts planned out too, some of them won’t be until next year but should be fun recurring series.

That’ll do for tonight. I started writing more but then decided to split that off into its own post. Come back tomorrow to see what nonsense that ends up being!
