I had to take my car for its MOT today, I was pretty sure it would be okay but it is still a worry, especially after it cost me so much last year!
Thankfully it passed this one without even so much as an advisory. Not bad for a fourteen year old car.
That has kind of been my day today. Sara and I had a nice lay in together and then watched the season finale of The Amazing Race before I had to head into town and she went to work. I dropped my car off and went for a walk into town, I haven’t been into town at all since xmas and not on a Saturday since probably my MOT last year! I avoid it at all costs when possible. I popped into my old shop to see if Phil, one of my old work buddies, was there. He wasn’t unfortunately but I had my question answered anyway, he got the managers job there. I’m happy for him, it’s all he’s wanted for quite some time. The way the old manager, an absolute fucknut, left is pretty hilarious too. I might write about it, but it might only be interesting if you know all the history and circumstances so we’ll see. Either way, it’s a good thing for the store and I might start shopping there again now.
From there I wandered up through the high street, it was pretty busy but there are still so many empty shops, its really sad. I made my way up to Saras bar and waited out my MOT with a beer and one of the delicious calzones they’ve been doing as a special recently. After a little while of not hearing from the garage and because it was starting to get busy with the rugby crowd I decided to head off. My car was just being finished up when I got back and it was all sorted so I headed home.
I just downloaded the remaining chapters of Life is Strange after loving the first one a few weeks ago. I’ll probably play some of that this evening but I don’t think there is going to be much more excitement than that. Pretty chilled day over all but I’m happy that it didn’t cost an arm and a leg!
I’ll see you tomorrow, hopefully with a haircut.
