(I'm glad I wrote this while on a boat earlier, I did a twelve hour shift today and was wiped out by the time I got home.)
Last night I decided to organise a bunch of stuff that we’ve been talking about for a while. Fun, social stuff.
Me and Sara are both very similar when it comes to doing bits and bobs with friends, love the idea of it but when it comes to it get that feeling of, “Oh I don’t wanna...” for me it comes from a place of just wanting the quiet comfiness of being at home.
The best way I’ve found to combat this is to make definite plans. I still get that feeling day-of but if I’ve arranged something I am way less likely to cancel it if I’ve got a set plan.
So that’s what I’ve done, we’ve been talking to our friends Rutter and Liv about playing some board games one evening for ages now and are finally going to do that on Thursday.
A friend we haven’t seen in ages is moving back to the states in a couple of weeks so this Sunday he’s going to come over and watch some football with us.
The last one there isn’t a set plan in place yet but an intention. I haven’t been able to get a game of Legion in anywhere in a while and I really want to. Wes is determined to play again soon too so when he knows his rota for next week we’re going to arrange that. I also had a guy from the Star Wars Legion Facebook group message me as he’s from Southampton and has the same problem as I do of having a lack of people to play against so I’m going to invite him along too.
I really like being social, I just also like my own space (ie. me or me and Sara) just as much.
Maybe getting some regularly arranged things like this sorted will be good for me.
