Catch Up Post 2/2

Went for an amazing Sunday roast today. Shout out to Meat & Barrel in Southsea. Excellent beer selection and the rest of the menu looked pretty top too.

I haven’t had a Sunday roast in ages! I think the last one was early December, maybe even longer. I did cook one on xmas day, who the fuck remembers what day of the week that was, but that one was… tainted. Let’s leave it at that.

This was great. Highly recommend it.

When I got home I chilled out for a little bit before getting my exercise done. Still only missed one day since I started. I’m obviously proud of the progress and weight loss and all that, but I’m just as - if not more so - proud of the commitment I’ve had to it. The day I had to skip was only because I was going straight to London from work and definitely didn’t want to get up at five am to get a work out in before hand. I have another one of those coming up in a week and a half and I’m already trying to figure out if there’s a way of getting my half hour on the bike in somehow. Who knew I could ever become that guy?!

I played some more Journey’s In Middle Earth this evening. Bloody loving this game. I’m sure it plays great with more people, definitely quicker as certain things I’m doing could be done simultaneously, but I don’t feel like I’m missing out by playing it solo. I think a lot of that is to do with the ‘enemy’ characters all being controlled by the companion app that I run on my laptop. I’ve played a few games with similar support but this feels like the fullest implementation of it. It’s the truest hybrid of computer game and board game I’ve played. I’m only about halfway through the campaign that it launched with but I’m already excited about the new one launching later in the year through the app.
