What To Watch Now?

What to watch now? I think that’s a question a lot of people are asking at the moment.

With Game of Thrones all wrapped up I for one am looking at a tv schedule without too much on it. The Expanse isn’t back until later this year, Westworld is next year and the very few sitcoms I still watch like Sunny and Nine-Nine are in their off seasons. Killing Eve’s second season has a couple of episodes left and the Chernobyl mini-series is over half finished but other than that I really don’t have a lot lined up. And I kind of love it!

We’ve been in, and to some extent still are in, a golden age of television at the moment. The quality, quantity and consistency of good to great shows to watch is unprecedented. The fact that I don’t have anything new to keep up with on a week to week basis right now is really relieving! I might finally be able to get back to some of the Netflix and Prime shows I’ve never finished or yet to even start.

Or I might not. I’ve found myself watching less and less tv in the last couple of months. Not because I’ve not enjoyed it, but because I’ve filled my time with other things instead. It’s almost certainly a byproduct of years of watching new tv with someone else so now when I sit down to watch something I tend to just throw on some Rooster Teeth content and chill out. The only time I go for something scripted that I haven’t seen before is when I’m really in the mood for it. I like to close the curtains, turn my phone over and really take in and enjoy the show. But that’s not what I want to do a lot of the time!

There’s plenty to be excited for coming up and I’m sure it won’t be long before I get caught up in another show but for now I’m looking forward to enjoying a mostly chilled summer off season.

If you’re looking for something to fill that Game Of Thrones void though please go and watch The Expanse on amazon prime. If you find the first season a bit slow, just remember, you’re probably one of the same people that said that about GOT too.
