Best Laid Plans
I was meant to be catching up with one of my closest friends this evening. Under normal circumstances Teesh and I grab chicken wings and a beer at least once every few weeks. It’s rad and I always look forward to it and feel good afterwards.
We also usually hit the bar early in the week, a Monday or Tuesday, as it’s nice and quiet and we’re not exhausted from the week already.
We probably should have checked today before making our plan because it turns out at since reopening after the latest lockdown they’re not opening Monday or Tuesdays now. Teesh headed straight there from work and messaged me to let me know as I was on my way.
It was a bummer, I was looking forward to catching up with my friend for the first time in a while and likely the last time this year. But it wasn’t meant to happen.
I was all psyched up and ready to not even be getting home until sometime around now, at just gone ten, but here I am, writing this in bed because I was struggling to keep my eyes open downstairs while I was playing Cyberpunk.
I’m gutted I didn’t get to see my friend, but if I’m nodding out like a smack head driving around with a deployed airbag I’m hoping it means I might get an unbroken nights sleep for the first time in months!
