Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff
I tend not to complain about much, about anything really. There inevitably things that irk me from time to time, same as anyone, but it is very rare for me to be so annoyed about something that I would actually make a complaint about it.
I may mention it or say, “oh man X was such a pain,” or whatever, but after that I’ll just move on with it.
Everything I do in my life is trying to make it easier in some way. That’s what it’s all about isn’t it? Moving through life and jumping hurdles as they come at you?
I can’t understand people who seem to go out of their way to make that jump harder for themselves. Instead of just hopping over and carrying on, or tripping but getting back up and moving on remembering what you did last time, they insist on running right at the hurdle and then fighting with it when it trips them.
It feels like some people go out of their way to nitpick and moan about such trivial things. They get themselves so worked up and agitated by a small thing that it consumes them. It often feels, as someone who does everything possible to reduce the amount of stress in their life, that the people who do go looking for it do it almost out of boredom.
Everyone is different, different strokes for different folks and all that, but it just doesn’t make any sense to me.
The example that inspired this post; the guy I’m working with at the moment has been complaining about the fit of his uniform trousers for... three and a half hours now, going over the same point over and over. He’s got himself worked up into such a state and despite the issue seemingly being sorted up the chain he is still going on about it.
I understand everyone is different with different priorities and such, but, is it really worth it to get yourself into such a state over a trivial problem?
If you get the wrong dish at a restaurant, let them know, they’ll fix it. If the meal isn’t exactly how you thought it was going to be though maybe that’s on you?
Who am I to say though. I don’t have answers, I just have opinions. Peace out yo.
