In Media Res

I’m back at work tonight and because everything under the sun is releasing on Fridays at the moment I spent my afternoon consuming media instead of writing.

Oh, what a hard life it is, watching comic book tv shows and claiming it is for creative projects.

I would much rather have been out enjoying the beautiful spring weather by the sea or on a paddle board or something though.

Falcon & The Winter Soldier is really good so far. I don’t think it is turning as many heads as WandaVision did because it is following a more traditional MCU structure and style, but it feels like the next chapter of the existing Captain America movies that came before it.

One of the things I’m really enjoying about these Disney+ Marvel shows is the deep cut comic book references. The MCU has never shied away from using obscure old lore to help bring their stories to the public masses, but I still get a kick out of seeing locations such as Madripoor and considering what that could mean for other stories in the future.

Ralph and I wrapped up our hectic first week of podcasts covering the initial three episodes of Invincible on Prime Video and the latest Invincipod dropped today. The podcast has been really successful so far and I’m looking forward to seeing it grow over the next number of weeks as we release a new episode every Monday.

I think I’m going to get started with writing some of my final daily posts tonight, I have two planned and one of them may span a couple of days, so with only a handful left I need to make sure I don’t run out of time.

Tomorrow should still be more normal nonsense though so if you enjoyed this one, come back tomorrow for more.
