Literature & Fine Art
I really wanted to write about the new Star Wars novel, Light of the Jedi tonight but unfortunately due to my training going all day I’ve not had a chance to get any further than the prologue so far. Hopefully I’ll have made more headway by the end of the week.
I did get to hang this incredible piece of art today though as the frame arrived. It’s a companion piece to one that’s been hung above my bed for some time. I bloody love it. There was one for The Force Awakens but I didn’t know at the time and it’s long since sold. If I ever see it available on the secondary market I’ll probably pay whatever it takes to get it but if not, I’m not going to be too devastated.
Both of these also have a glow in the dark layer in their screen print that shows an almost entirely different image. For the top one it is the counter point to Luke projecting himself from the rock and depicts his showdown with Kylo Ren. For the new piece it mirrors Luke raising his X-Wing for Rey by revealing Yoda lifting the same starfighter out of the swamp in Empire Strikes Back.
Mark Englert has done tons of amazing art, I wish I could afford to buy more.
Now though, I’m going to fall sleep watching an episode of The Clone Wars.
Hey look, I managed to have an all Star Wars post without even talking about the thing I planned to. What can I say? It’s a gift.
