Yoga Without The Aches
Last weekend, somehow, doing my normal yoga work out fucked my calves and hamstrings and left them achy for most of the week. I carried on doing everything else and just did some more restorative floor based stuff when it came to yoga.
Today I wanted to get back to doing a full workout though and I’m happy to say that I’m feeling fine now, hours later. Not sure what that was all about.
I’ve been building my strength back up with yoga after having a couple of months off of it and am slowly getting there. I’m not yet back to where I was before getting sick, but that’s okay, there’s no rush, I’m not trying to prove myself to anyone.
One thing is quite annoying though; I’ve moved all my stuff upstairs so I’ve all all my exercise stuff in one place and I’m not sure if it’s because my mat in now on carpet instead of hardwood, it’s a warmer room, I’m not in as good a shape, the mat is getting a bit worn or a combination of all of those point, but I’m finding the soles of my feet are getting a bit sweaty while I’m working out and it’s stopping me from having a stable footing when I’m trying to do various balances and stretch poses. I’m not sure what the best solution is for that one.
I’m putting this one out late as I got wrapped up in another game of Uno with the boys. We’ve chosen our next game to have a crack at all playing together now too, so hopefully there’ll be some of that for me to write about soon too.
